solar thermal

A solar thermal plant is a plant that uses solar energy and transforms it into heat.

Generally consists of:

• modules or solar panels that convert solar radiation into heat;
• kettle, which stores the water turned hot;
• regulators and pumps for the circulation

Typically solar energy is generated by the panels, suitably oriented. In these applications, we tend to use water as heat carrier fluid.

The performance of solar panels has increased by a good 30% over the last decade, making  numbers in applications in residential building accommodations, in the services sectors  and agriculture.
The most common application is the solar thermal collectors used for hot water. In one day, one square meter of solar collector can heat a 45 - 60 ° C a quantity of water between 40 and 300 liters, according to the efficiency which can vary - between 30% and 80% - depending on the climatic conditions and the type of collector (source enel).

The solar thermal systems at low temperature are used to:

• the production of hot water for homes, and sports facilities, offices
• the integration of heating environments
• heating outdoor swimming pools and blankets
